Dreams come true at sunset

Dreams come true at sunset Polista a caballo en El Palmar

Sand. Sand, sea and sun. The perfect combination. The ideal witnesses to a unique moment. The perfect accomplices to an unforgettable experience.

The images of horsemen riding their horses set against a crystal-like sea will be indelible. The shared laughter and conversations with friends on a summer’s evening at sunset in a natural park such as El Palmar, memorable.

This was the backdrop to the celebration of the 1st and 2nd Sunset Beach Polo Tournament, and everyone who was there knows it. It was not only about sport, and the Sunset Tournament, for the third consecutive year, managed to entangle polo with the beauty of the Cadiz coasts and the greatness of its people.

DREAMS COME TRUE AT SUNSET

The summer of 2014, the 2nd Sunset Beach Polo Tournament was not only about bringing an almost mythological sport to the masses, but to do it at the hands of first rate players, to watch a masterfully staged scene. And so it was. Players with +4 handicaps, like Diego Gallego, Hernán Pieres and Alvaro Ara, delighted us with authentic play that, as could not be otherwise, were wrapped in the warmth of the crowded audience and their multitudinous applause.

The tournament, supported by the Andalusian and Spanish polo federations, was centred around the participation of 4 teams: Andalucía, Vodafone, Covap and Barceló.

The composition of the teams was as follows:
- Vodafone Team (red) formed by: Pepe Carrasco, Hernán Pieres and Robert Tabares.
- Covap Team (yellow): César Minho, Carlos Piñal and Antonio Gallego.
- Andalucía Team (white): Juan Álvarez, Diogo Gallego and Andrew Nulty.
- Barceló Team (green): Klarina Pilcher, Pepe Carrasco Junior and Álvaro Ara.

The tournament’s final took place between teams Vodafone and Andalucía, with the victory eventually going to the members of the Andalucía team.

The support provided by sponsors and partner companies with both a national and international scope, has been essential in developing this sporting event, helping to give greater prominence to the Sunset Beach Polo brand within the Andalusian tourism and economic sector.

The idea of Sunset also goes beyond the here and now. It aims to cross borders and spread the reach of beach polo to every corner of the planet. The way to do it? Build each team with players of different nationalities. Uruguay, Portugal, England, Austria, Argentina and Spain were the countries of origin of the players last year. A mixture of cultures that reached the grand final, where of the six finalists, four were international players.

Pepe Carrasco, Hernán Pieres, Roberto Tabares, César Miño, Carlos Piñal, Antonio Gallego, Juan Alvarez, Diogo Gallego, Andrew Nulty, Klarina Pilcher, Pepe Carrasco Junior and Álvaro Ara. Thanks to them for making this dream possible ... It wouldn't have existed without them, the delight, the joy that only the silhouette of a rider on the seashore can create in our minds.

Because only the unique and brief moments become eternal and unforgettable ... SUNSET BEACH POLO 2014.
